February has been a bit of a difficult month for me. I actually debated if I should put this post together or not just because I’ve been struggling to stay positive this past month. However, in the spirit of looking forward and moving on, I decided to round up my February 2017 Instagram Memories in hopes of reliving the best moments of this past month.
Style Posts
I finally got around to sharing my “50 Shades of Grey” style post. Although I’m still quite awkward when it comes to posing and looking natural for blog photos, I’m hopeful to improve in the future. I also hope to share more outfit and style posts going forward as writing these types of posts is something I really enjoy. I know everyone has their own distinct style, but my hope is that through these posts, I can at least motivate you to try out a new style, or even inspire you on how to wear a certain piece/color/etc.
Mastering the Flatlay
And then came Valentine’s Day. As this was the first time I was single on Valentine’s Day in a couple years, I decided to write up all the different ways we single girls can still enjoy the couple’s holiday. This post also pushed me to create content that I had always wanted to photograph before, but never did: flatlays. In the age of Instagram, flatlays have become huge. They are so aesthetically pleasing and undeniably beautiful to look at. It all looks so effortless and care-free, but let me tell you, this is definitely not the case. Creating the perfect flatlay takes a lot of thought, preparation, the right props, the correct angle, and so on. This was my first go at creating my own flatlays and while I know I still have a lot of room for improvement, I’m pleased with how the images for that post came out and I look forward to working on my flatlay game in the upcoming months.
As February is the shortest month of the year, and I did also fall a bit behind on Instagram content this month, that’s all I have for this month’s Instagram memories, but feel free to share with me your highlights of February in the comments down below!
