In celebration of Swiss National Day today, I thought I would share my latest adventures – a helicopter ride over Valle Verzasca!
Yesterday I was lucky enough to be treated to my very first helicopter ride and I absolutely loved it! I must say, the month of July was filled with quite a few new (and some old) experiences, such as paragliding, bungee jumping (vlog coming soon to my YouTube channel), but riding in a helicopter was a completely new and different experience from those two.
The only way I can really describe it is that it felt like being on a Disneyland ride, but obviously much more beautiful and breathtaking. We flew over the dam and river of Valle Verzasca in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, where I had gone bungee jumping just two weeks previously.
While the day was a bit cloudy, providing less than optimal views, I still had the time of my life. And although the ride lasted about 10 minutes, I had a smile on my face the entire time.
In comparison to paragliding, the sensation is very different, mostly the fact that there’s not as much of a risk of feeling motion-sick, which I definitely appreciated.
Going for a helicopter ride is truly a special treat and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for spectacular bird-eye views.
Have you ever gone on a helicopter ride? Let me know if the comments if you ever have, or if it’s something on your bucket list, or even something you would never consider. I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🙂
