“Mint Candy Apple” by Essie

Nothing says Spring like a good pastel. That’s why Mint Candy Apple by Essie is a go-to for me during the springtime. While this beautiful mint green polish was released years ago, its easy to wear pastel shade makes it a classic nail polish choice that I go back to year after year.

Mint Candy Apple is actually Essie’s color of the month for April 2017 and I couldn’t think of a polish of theirs that is better fitting for this time of year. As its name suggests, it is a true mint green shade with slight blue undertones. I always receive compliments whenever I put this on my nails, and I definitely think it would suit all skin tones.

Often the problem with pastel nail polishes is that the formula can be very thin and runny meaning that you must apply many coats to achieve any type of opacity. However, this is not the case with Mint Candy Apple. This polish has the perfect formula allowing you to get perfect minty-ness with just two coats. I applied three coats here to be safe, but even then it wasn’t too thick and didn’t take too long to dry.

The combination of Mint Candy Apple’s perfect pastel color and its dreamy formula make it one of my all time favorite polishes and I know I will continue to use it throughout the springtime, and well into summer as well. To be completely honest, I find Essie does the best pastel polishes, so if mint green isn’t necessarily your pastel shade of choice, I highly recommend you check out one of their many other pastel options. I’m sure you will find the perfect pastel shade that’s right for you!
