Blogging has become a big part of my life over the past 2 years. It has allowed me to combine many of my passions, such as traveling, writing, photography, social media management, graphic design, and visual aesthetics into one platform that I can share with others across the world. In case you were thinking of starting your own blog or maybe just wanted to know why I enjoy it so much, I thought I would share exactly why I love blogging. 
Writing
When I was younger, particularly when I was in high school, I never felt confident in my writing abilities. I was always admiring my friends’ creative stories and eloquently worded essays wishing I could write more like them. Then I created my blog. I was no longer graded on what I wrote and I could choose exactly what I wrote about. I then realized that I truly enjoyed the writing process and having the freedom to write about topics that I feel passionate about. I am now constantly thinking of new topics to write about and often times writing out posts in my head.
Photography & Photo Editing
Blogging allows me to dabble in the world of photography and photo editing. With my growing photography experience, I strive to curate interesting and high-quality photos to compliment my blog posts. I see my mission for the perfect photo as my want to preserve that moment for as long as possible. Photo editing goes hand in hand with photography, especially in the age of Instagram. I strive not only to take eye catching photos, but also edit them in a way that enhances the true beauty captured in the photo. I do so because I treat my blog and my Instagram as a visual yearbook that documents all my favorite memories. Because of my dedication to my blog, I have now really come to enjoy not only photography, but the entire photo editing process as well.
Professional Development
Blogging also means so much to me because it has contributed to my professional development. Blogging ties into my professional career as my area of expertise includes marketing, communications, and social media management. Through blogging, I have been able to expand my knowledge of social media management, including best practices, analytics tracking, and ensuring I keep up to date on new features. By constantly maintaining my personal website, I continuously use and expand upon my digital marketing techniques and through writing content and social media posts I regularly work on my communications skills. I am so thankful that one of my biggest personal passions has also helped me develop professionally as well.
My Creative Outlet
First and foremost, blogging is a creative outlet for me. Having a blog allows me to design my own website, giving me the freedom to change the layout whenever I am feeling inspired. As an avid traveler, blogging pushes me to discover new places, write about the ones I already love, and see things through a completely different lens. Additionally, as someone with many different interests ranging from fashion to food, I use my creativity to create blog posts that combine my interests, whether it be through my writing, or my photographs.
I am so thankful to have entered the world of blogging, not only for my personal interests, but also because it has helped me in my professional career as well. I know that by having Life with Laila, I will only continue to develop my skills and creativity as I strive to push myself both as an individual and as a professional.
