What better way to compliment the sparkling, blue Mediterranean Sea than with a matching blue manicure, am I right? When choosing my nail color for my vacation to Sardinia, I knew I had to go for something in the blue-family making “Teal the Cows Come Home” by OPI the perfect choice. Although I had never been to the Italian island before, my friends told me many stories of how blue the sea was. After spending 5 days there, I can confidently say that the sea is truly mesmerizing and the blue-ness of it will surely take your breath away.
“Teal the Cows Come Home” by OPI is one of my oldest polishes, but still a favorite of mine. I am naturally drawn to blue hues in polishes, therefore I was really excited to pull this one out of my collection for this trip. This is definitely a summer polish for me and I love how bright the color is against my dark skin tone, while the slight shimmer in it just magnifies the sparkling blue of the Mediterranean. Like most other OPI polishes, the formula is a dream, with two coats providing the perfect opacity. As with all my manicures, I finished it off with my Sech-Vite top coat, and an OPI base coat, of course to protect my natural nails.
Sardinia: The Perfect Teal Backdrop
The sandy beaches of Sardinia provided the perfect backdrop for this polish. While the island’s terrain is desert-like, filled with cacti and red rocks, their sandy beaches do not disappoint with direct access to the Mediterranean Sea.
Now that summer has come to an end, will you still be rocking bright hues on your nails, or will you be transitioning to deep-fall tones? Let me know in the comments!
